GDPR Consent Notice.

1. What you are consenting to

When you create an account or make a Booking on Sportabal, we ask you to confirm the following separately. None of the optional consents below is bundled into account creation — your account will work whether or not you give them.

1.1 Required — essential processing for your account and Bookings

☑ I agree to Sportabal processing my personal data as described in the Privacy Policy in order to create and manage my account, take payment, supply and deliver my Bookings (including sharing the information needed for the relevant Sports Star to perform the Service), and meet legal and tax obligations.

Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you and compliance with our legal obligations. When you make a Booking, your contract for the Service is with Sportabal, and we process and share the personal data needed to supply and deliver it. This processing is required for the Platform to work and cannot be turned off without closing your account.

1.2 Optional — marketing emails and updates

☐ I would like Sportabal to send me occasional emails about Sports Stars, Services and offers I might be interested in. Lawful basis: consent. Withdraw at any time via “unsubscribe” or hello@sportabal.com.

1.3 Optional — SMS, WhatsApp and push notifications

☐ I would like Sportabal to contact me by SMS, WhatsApp or app push notification with marketing or transactional updates I have asked for. Lawful basis: consent. Withdraw in Account Settings or by replying “STOP”.

1.4 Optional — personalised recommendations

☐ I would like Sportabal to use my browsing and Booking history to suggest Sports Stars and Services I might enjoy. Lawful basis: consent. Withdraw in Account Settings.

1.5 Optional — analytics and advertising cookies

☐ I am happy for Sportabal to set non-essential cookies for analytics and advertising on this device, as described in section 2 and section 10 of the Privacy Policy. Lawful basis: consent. Withdraw through the Cookie Preferences Centre.

2. Cookie consent in detail

When you first visit sportabal.com you will see a cookie banner that lets you accept all, reject all (except strictly necessary cookies), or choose your preferences by category:

• Strictly necessary — always on. Required for log-in, payment processing and core security.
• Functionality — remembers your preferences (for example language and saved Sports Stars).
• Analytics — helps us measure how the Platform is used so we can improve it.
• Marketing — lets us measure marketing performance and (with your consent) show you relevant ads off-platform.

You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie Preferences Centre, or by clearing cookies in your browser. A full list of the cookies we use, their purpose, expiry and provider is set out in section 10 of our Privacy Policy.

3. Special-category data

We do not ask for special-category personal data (such as health, religion, ethnicity or political opinions) and ask you not to include it in messages or Booking instructions. If you voluntarily share such data — for example an accessibility or dietary requirement for an in-person appearance — we rely on your explicit consent to process it for that specific purpose only and delete it as soon as it is no longer needed.

4. Children

You must be at least 18 to use Sportabal. We collect your date of birth at sign-up to confirm this and do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal data, email hello@sportabal.com and we will delete it.

5. Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw any consent above at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand: in your Account Settings; via the Cookie Preferences Centre; by clicking unsubscribe in any marketing email; by replying “STOP” to any SMS or WhatsApp; or by emailing hello@sportabal.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the contracted Services we are required to provide — these continue under section 1.1 above, our Website Terms of Use and any Booking you have made.

6. Your rights and how to complain

You have the full set of UK GDPR rights set out in section 8 of our Privacy Policy, including access, correction, deletion, portability and the right to object. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113 — though we would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first at hello@sportabal.com.

7. Updates to this notice

We may update this Notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Where the change is material, we will ask you to confirm your consent again at your next sign-in.
